Workers Compensation Claims
People trying to file a worker compensation
claim or check on the status of a claim often do not
know where to turn for information. The U.S. Department
of Labor’s Office of Workers Compensation
Programs administers the four major disability compensation
programs, including the Federal Employees’ Compensation
Program, Energy Employees’ Occupational Illness
Compensation Program, Lungshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation
Program and Black Lung Benefits Program.
The four major disability compensation programs are
intended to provide wage replacement benefits, medical
treatment, vocational rehabilitation and other benefits
to qualified workers and dependents that suffer work-related
injury or occupational disease. Workers’ Compensation
programs for other employees excluded from the four
Department of Labor identified programs are supervised
